To begin our Passion journey, we brought two infamous icons to share their stories with our students.
After viewing Kid President, and Champion Blacks videos, we were excited about the next task, but not prepared for the responses.
- Do you recall a passion in middle school and if so, did you know it was your passion and is it still part of your life today?
- If you could speak to a middle school student who is clueless about a passion or interest in anything in general, what would you say or recommend to him or her?
Aloha and welcome to Post #2.
What is the most fun way to discover your passion while growing up in middle school?
That's what we are going to discover with your comments and stories.
Caring is sharing and that's what generated this Blog resulting from a Pandemic year.
Aloha, Rae Tang
1) Back in middle school, my close friends and I prepared, practiced and performed a dance routine to show off at our 8th grade banquet! From that, I joined dance club for four years at my high school, which was the best decision of my life. Till this day, after graduating six years ago, I still either support my close friends in their dance competitions, attend dance workshops that my friends teach while trying to keep up with the young-ins (I have no idea how I still didn't broke a bone yet), or support our high school dance club by supporting them at competition or helping out with their events or graduation parties!
ReplyDelete2) It's okay if you don't have a passion or interest! Don't beat yourself if you can't think or have one yet, it'll come to you when you least expect it! Also, passions and interests change, so please don't force yourself to like something, things come and go~
My advice to young-ins would to be open minded when trying new things, you will never know if that new thing can be something you'll end up doing your entire life or for a short sweet while!
Aloha!
DeleteMahalo for your comment. I wish you left your name so I could address you by name. With that said, I love your story, in number one. I've been hearing more magical moments like those, which are so inspiring. It sounds like my husband and I when we were both in choir and advance choir in high school. Today, we still perform together, and stay in touch with our friends too. I love your advice in number two and will note that for next years seventh and eight graders. Be open minded and try new things is our favorite to our kids too. Have a great week. Happy blogging! Mahalo for sharing . . .
